We were able to travel effortlessly between Hakata and Osaka on clean, comfortable and punctual services. Railways in Japan are easy to use and very easy to access. Seat reservations were a breeze and we were even able to travel on Nozomi super express services. Services are frequent and fast. We will travel to Japan again and will definitely purchase a Japan Rail Pass for whatever region we intend to visit. A big thumbs up from us.

I think it it the easiest way to travel through Japan...the green JR offices are easy to find, the staff speak english relatively well considering I dont speak Japanese...the tip is to reserve your seats on the Shinkansen...so much easier

It was good to use the bullet trains (shinkansen) in the region but my only beef is that the 4 days must be consecutive. This is an insane way to travel from one place to the next without stopping. This pass does include the JR ferry to Miyajima so make it worthwhile and go there - you won't regret it. If JR can make a pass more like the European ones - non-consecutive days - I would happily buy such a pass.
