Railjet network

The Railjet is a new high speed train of the Austrian Federal Railways or ÖBB, operating at speeds of up to 200 km/h (124 mph), with a planned increase to 230 km/h (143 mph) by 2013.

Routes & Travel times:

  • Budapest - Vienna - Munich
  • Vienna - Salzburg - Bregenz / Zurich
  • A journey time of 2 hours 15 minutes between Salzburg and Vienna is planned.

Long-term plans are:

  • 2010-2012 Vienna - Graz - Maribor - Ljubljana ( - Zagreb)
  • 2010-2012 Vienna - Villach - Venice/Lienz
  • 2013 Improved frequency for the Vienna - Innsbruck - Bregenz (-Zurich) line.

Onboard services:

Railjet Bistro: Large choice of food/drinks such as Austrian delicacies, International specialities and seasonal meals make up a very wide and varied offer to choose from.

Cinema entertainment for children in Economy Class

Passenger Information System keeps passengers up to date: timetable information is displayed on 80 monitors throughout the train and digital maps show the actual route of your train. The Passenger Information System also has an electronic reservation display so travellers can easily find their seat.
