Allegro - St Petersburg to Helsinki

NEW: Allegro

On December 12, 2010 a high-speed railroad service opened between Russia and Finland. The new train Allegro, manufactured by the French company Alstom, will do the route Saint-Petersburg - Helsinki in 3.5 hours, instead of the previous 6 hours 18 minutes.

• The train makes stops in Vyborg (Russia) and in Vainikkala, Kouvola, Lahti, Tikkurila and Pasilo (Finland). There are two daily trips, but their amount increases to four by summer 2011.

Onboard Services

• The train features 344 seats, of which 296 seats are second and 48 are first class.
• The express is also provided with seats for disabled people, a dining car, a conference room, a children's play area and a currency exchange office.
• Allegro is the first train with customs control en route

Rules

• Tickets are issued as Combined Ticket (ticket + reservation).
• Reservation is compulsory, Open Tickets are not authorised onboard.
