Paris - Barcelona - Nice - Milan - Florence - Rome - Venice

Paris

In the city, you can spend one day or two touring sites like the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. You can also spend time at the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, where you can enjoy food and entertainment. A trip to the Seine River, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre Museum. You will also have time for a bit of shopping in a city that sets the standard for fashion for much of the world.
If you have the time in addition to touring Paris, you can also take a 15 minute train trip to nearby Versailles for a tour of the palace. Disneyland Paris can also be a great activity for people looking to spend an afternoon at a theme park without have to travel too far.

Paris- Barcelona
  • Duration: 12 hrs
  • Price: Sleeper pricing from $198pp (based on sharing reclining seat) without a pass. If travelling with a Rail Pass sleeper cost starts from $98pp (based on reclining seat.) Double Sleepers start from $305pp (based on two people sharing) without a pass, and $228 with a pass. Gran Class from $394pp without a pass and $330 with a pass.

Take the overnight journey on the Elipsos Night train to Barcelona. Travel in style in the Gran deluxe sleeper where you have your own private shower and toilet and will be served a 3 course meal for dinner in the dining car. Or for those on a little more of a budget you can opt to share a 4 berth room (same-sex) or sleep in a reclining seat for the night.

Barcelona

When in Spain you can't miss out on a visit to Barcelona, one of Europe's most vibrant cities, full of architecture and a fierce nightlife. See Guell Park, Segrada Familia Cathedral, wander up and down Las Ramblas or visit Montserrat.

Barcelona- Nice
  • Duration: 10 hrs
  • Price: Tickets from $285pp 2nd class without a pass and approx $19pp per sector with a pass.
  • Reservations are only compulsory on fast trains. Any regional trains do not require an additional seat reservations with a pass.

A ten hour trip along the Spanish and French coastline. The Talgo day train will take you into France and from there you will change at either Narbonne, Perpignan or Montpellier (depending on the date of travel) for the train to Nice.

Nice

You might choose to travel along the French Riviera stopping at towns like Nice
Nice, is the Riviera's largest city. Stroll through Vieille Ville, the Old Town beginning at the foot of "the Rock." Enjoy a snack of socca, a round crepe made with chick-pea flour that's sold steaming hot by the street vendors. Then head for the promenade des Anglais, the wide boulevard along the waterfront.

Nice- Milan

Travel on the Riviera Day train on a five hour journey to Milan. This journey follows the coast line until you get to Genova and from there is turns north to travel onto Milan.

Milan

Milan, the Fashion capital. Here you can visit many of the worlds most famous shops and designers. But if fashion isn't your thing don't despair because there are plenty of other things to see and do in this city. Visit all the major museums and monuments, including Duomo, Castello Sforzesco, Royal Palace and La Scala Theatre.

Milan- Florence

Journey south on the high speed Eurostar Italia train 2hrs 45 mins to Florence.

Florence

Florence is a city of art. Cathedrals, museums, galleries are just some of the amazing places on offer in this charming city. Visit the Cathedral, Santa Croce, San Marco, Piazzale Michaelangelo and so much more! You can also pre-purchase a hop on hop off bus pass, tickets are open dated and allow you to see the best of what Florence has to offer without having to navigate the maps by yourself!

Florence- Rome
  • Duration: 1hr 30mins
  • Price: Tickets including seat reservation from $98pp 2nd class without a pass or approx $21pp with a pass.

Continue South on the High Speed Eurostar Italia train another 1hr 30mins to Rome.

Rome

Spend the day in the city seeing the sites Rome has to offer. Visit the Colosseum, ride the local buses and visit Vatican City, the Spanish Steps, St Peters Basilica, the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. But remember to line up early if you want to get into the Vatican otherwise you would be best to join a Tour Group so you can avoid the massive queues.

Rome- Venice
  • Duration: 4hrs
  • Price: Tickets including seat reservation from $129pp 2nd class without a pass or approx $21pp with a pass.
  • Reservations are compulsory

Take the four hour journey north through Tuscany to the island city of Venice. This journey is also on a high speed train with compulsory reservations.

Venice

Venice St Lucia station is situated within an easy walking distance to the local canal boats or cross the bridge to the main tourist area of Venice. Stroll the small streets and alleyways admiring the cobblestone streets and gondoliers that sing as the row past you down the canals. See St Marks Basilica and the Doges Palace whilst wandering through the myriad of passageways winding around this unique city.

The price above is based on point to point tickets and seat reservations as outlined in the itinerary. However please note that quite often these cheaper fares are not available in which case you may take a Rail Pass instead.

If you choose to travel on a Rail Pass the best one for this journey is the Eurail Select 3 country Pass 6 days travel within 2 months. Pricing starts from $404pp (based on youth pass 2nd class). Plus seat reservations and passholders fares as stated above.
