Economy Class

Choose the affordable option of economy class travel aboard the Canadian and settle into a seat that offers true stretch-out comfort, complete with footrests and reclining seat backs.

By day, enjoy the scenery from the large picture windows, stroll down the wide aisles, enjoy a meal in one of your designated dining facilities or purchase a snack and beverage offered at your seat or from the take-out counter.

At night, the seat area is your nest, with individual reading lights and VIA pillows and blankets.

Plus, a warm and friendly mood always awaits you in the Skyline car for games or a casual meal, and you will definitely want to check out the 360 degree scenic dome.

SLEEPER TOURING CLASS

Offers you high-class accommodation, superb meals and impeccable service. Our sleeping cars afford you a comfortable night's sleep en route to destination. Ever popular with passengers are the modern shower facilities now available in each VIA Rail sleeping car.

Upper and Lower Berths

Semi-private, with wide couch style seats facing each other. At night, they convert to upper and lower beds with reading lights and heavy curtains for privacy. Showers and washrooms are just a few steps away.

By day, the two berths transform into two double seats that face each other. A table is available upon request.

By night, the double seats give way to two cosy, comfortable beds, each equipped with a reinforced privacy curtain. Washroom and shower facilities are located only a few metres away in the same car.

The main difference between the upper and lower berth is that the lower berth always gets a forward facing seat during the day.

Cabin for 1

A private one- person room with comfortable seat, picture window, call button, its own hand basin, power outlet, concealed toilet and vanity. At night, it becomes a snug sleeping area.

Each bedroom includes a fan, electrical outlet, private washroom, sink and mirror. The door locks from the inside and the shower is only a few metres down the hall.

Cabin for 2

By day, a private room for two, with armchairs, a large picture window, small closet, hand basin, power outlet, vanity, separate toilet, and foldout table on request. At night, it converts to upper and lower beds. Some bedrooms can be combined into a suite.

Cabin for 3: The triple bedroom is the largest type of bedroom accommodation available aboard our trains. Each features a sofa and two armchairs. By night, you will snuggle into one of three bunks, one upper and two lower.

The cabin for 3 comes replete with a small closet, fan, electrical outlet, private washroom, sink and mirror. If required, an attendant will be pleased to set up a small table for you during the day. The door locks from the inside and the shower is only a few metres down the hall. Please contact us to request rates for a cabin for 3.

Romance by Rail

Enjoy a dream voyage in the intimacy of a private suite. Let us spoil you: fresh flowers, chocolates on the pillow, top-quality sparkling wine as the train leaves... every evening, if you spend more than one night aboard! Your spacious suite, comprising two converted regular bedrooms, will be the envy of other passengers. Crisp bed linen and an inviting down duvet await you. And if you have a quick word with your attendant before retiring, he will bring you breakfast in bed! Romance by Rail has been designed just for you and your "significant other".

VIA's "Romance by Rail" service is a couples-only upgrade which includes accommodations for two in a private suite - literally the size of two double bedrooms - featuring a queen-sized bed, two private washrooms, complimentary in-room sparkling wine, fresh-cut flowers and even breakfast in bed upon request. All meals included.
